EFCC is Investigating Ganduje Videos in London
As you would see in the video below, the Chairman of the EFCC, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, said he is investigating the videos allegedly sowing the Governor of Kano state, Dr. Abdullahi umar Ganduje in London.
The chairman said this in response to a question I asked him after his lecture on “Taming Corruption in Africa” at Queen Mary University of London last Friday.
After I drew his attention to a report by Premium Times last Thursday in which he was reported to have said his commission would not investigate Ganduje because he is a sitting governor who is immune by the Constitution and that the matter is sub-judice, the EFCC chairman said “One of the reasons I am here [Lodond] … I am working on it here. I am working on it here. Here, one of (inaudible) is the forensic analysis of whatever is contained in the video.”
This is contrary to my earlier piece on this in which I said he refused to say EFCC will investigate the videos. This happened because I did not hear this part of his answer of the noise in the hall as you can hear in the video. I only understood that part after watching the video at home today.
